4 Important Things To Bring To Your Vision Care Appointment

Each Vision Source® practice is dedicated to bringing you personalized, professional care. We want you to feel at home in our practice, and we love visiting with you.

The more we understand about your habits, concerns, and existing health conditions, the more personalized care we can provide. There are a few things you can do to help.

Maximize Your Vision Appointments By Bringing Along...

1. Appropriate Healthcare Cards & Information

Do you carry your healthcare cards with you? Some of us do and some of us don’t. It’s a good idea to bring both your medical and vision insurance cards to your eye appointment with your Vision Source® practice. With these in hand, completing the necessary paperwork is easier, and we can ensure that the information on file is up to date.

2. Medications You’re Taking

To help your vision care team provide precise care, it’s important that they know the medications and/or supplements you take. Not just the ones that may be specific to your sight, but all of them! Before your appointment, make a list of current medications and supplements including dosages and frequencies.

3. Current Eyewear (including your sunglasses!)

Bring all of the eyewear you use to your appointments. This should include the sunglasses you may be wearing, daily wear, readers, or even occupational eyewear.

4. Notes With Your Questions And/Or Symptoms

Having a clear set of questions can help your Vision Source® team monitor your lifelong vision care. If you’re managing chronic conditions, this list will help us see patterns, warning signs, and suggest improvements we can discuss.

Protect Your Vision With Regular Appointments

Regular comprehensive exams help protect one of your most precious assets— your vision! Our vision changes over time, so it’s important to keep scheduled appointments, even when you feel like there aren’t any “problems”. Preventive care is the best care.

Contact a Vision Source® practice near you, and learn what a difference it makes when you have a team of eyecare professionals taking care of your healthy vision. We look forward to seeing you!

Dry Eye Treatment in Santa Monica

Dry eyes rarely have one cause, so we don’t start with a prescription. We start by finding out why your eyes are dry, then build a plan around daily habits and home care, because that is what makes the biggest difference. If you need more, we offer IPL, radiofrequency (RF), punctal plugs, and prescription treatments, with a follow-up plan so you always know what comes next.

Myopia Management for Kids in Santa Monica

If your child’s prescription keeps getting stronger, it’s worth acting early. We start myopia evaluations at age 4. We’ll explain what rising nearsightedness can mean over time and what to expect as school demands grow and puberty arrives. Then we choose an option your child will accept: atropine drops, Stellest lenses, MiSight contact lenses, or orthokeratology (overnight lenses). We check progress every few months and adjust as your child grows.

Specialty Contact Lens Evaluations in Santa Monica

Told that contact lenses won’t work for you? Often there is a way. We evaluate multifocal, scleral, mini-scleral, and hybrid lenses, including lenses for keratoconus and for eyes after surgery. With corneal topography and trial lenses in every style, we find what works for your eyes. We have helped patients who were told elsewhere that contacts weren’t an option.
