Cataracts develop so gradually that most people don’t notice them happening — colors slowly seem a bit duller, night driving gets harder, reading in dim light takes more effort. It’s less a sudden event and more a slow fade that’s easy to write off as “just getting older,” until it starts genuinely getting in the way of daily life.

We monitor cataracts starting at the earliest, faintest stages, well before they’re affecting your vision in any meaningful way. When they do start interfering with things like driving, reading, or work, we’ll talk through timing for surgical referral — cataract surgery is one of the most common and successful procedures in medicine, and we coordinate closely with trusted surgeons for that next step.

Signs worth mentioning at your next exam: - Cloudy, blurry, or dimmed vision - Increased glare or halos around lights at night - Colors appearing faded or yellowed - Frequent prescription changes in your glasses.
