Most people come in thinking this is just about reading letters off a chart. It’s not — a comprehensive exam is really a full check-up for your eyes and, in a lot of cases, an early warning system for the rest of your health. Conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure often show up in the eyes before a patient even knows something’s wrong.
At Golden State Optometry, a comprehensive exam covers your vision (how well you see), your eye health (how healthy the eye itself is), and often a screening for early signs of disease. We take the time to actually walk you through what we’re seeing — not just hand you a prescription and send you out the door.
What’s included: - Visual acuity and refraction (your prescription) - Eye health evaluation, including retinal imaging - Screening for glaucoma, cataracts, and other conditions - A conversation about any changes in your vision or health history
Most patients are in and out within an hour, and we’ll always tell you plainly if anything needs a closer look.
We also carry a curated selection of eyewear and offer bespoke lens options, so once we’ve sorted out what your eyes need, finding frames and lenses that actually fit your life and your style is part of the same visit — not a separate errand.
