Contact Lens Exams

A contact lens exam is its own thing — separate from a general eye exam, and it surprises people every time we explain why. Contacts sit directly on your eye, which means fit, curvature, and even how your tear film behaves all matter in a way that doesn’t come up with glasses.

We’ll measure the curve of your eye, check how your eyes handle the lens material, and have you try a pair in the office before we finalize anything. If you’re new to contacts, we’ll also walk through insertion, removal, and care — no rushing through it.

Good to know: - New contact lens wearers should plan for a slightly longer first visit - We fit both soft and specialty (rigid, toric, multifocal) lenses - Annual contact lens exams are required to keep your prescription current, even if your glasses prescription hasn’t changed If your contacts have ever felt “just okay” rather than genuinely comfortable, that’s usually a fit issue we can fix.
