Dry eye gets dismissed a lot — as “just getting older,” or something to fix with a $6 bottle of drops. For a lot of our patients, it’s actually an ongoing condition that responds much better to a real treatment plan than to guesswork at the drugstore.
We start by figuring out why your eyes are dry — is it a tear production issue, a tear quality issue, or something environmental — because the right treatment really depends on the cause. There are so many different variables that can contribute to dryness — eyelid health, screen habits, medications, allergies, even the climate here — that there’s rarely one catch-all fix that works for everyone. Some patients need in-office treatment, others need a change in daily routine, and some need both.
Signs it’s worth getting checked: - Gritty, burning, or scratchy sensation - Eyes that water a lot (yes, that’s often dry eye too) - Blurry vision that improves with blinking - Contact lenses that feel uncomfortable by afternoon.
We’ll build a plan around your specific cause rather than starting everyone on the same generic drops.
